+PROS-MINUS- NISSEI DS-11A blood pressure monitor

Aug 24, 2021

On this windy August day, we are testing a Japanese-made device - the Nissei DS-11A.

I won't lie, this blood pressure monitor surprises with its quality right out of the box. The buttons are pressed easily, almost without any sound. The parts have no looseness or wobble, and the cuff, although soft, fastens without much effort and adheres very well, which I can't say about cuffs from many other manufacturers.

The biggest advantages of a blood pressure machine:

This monitor, although it belongs to the middle price range, definitely has many more advantages than some more expensive blood pressure monitors. However, I will still highlight the strongest advantages:
  • Relatively large number of functions - this is a mid-range meter that warns about movement, arrhythmia, has a memory that is easy to use.
  • As I mentioned - the build quality. All parts are solid, the plastic feels high quality, the cuff is comfortable.
  • Batteries and a charger are already included, so you won't have to go to the store as soon as you receive the device. NISSEI_DS_11A_full_set
  • A very big plus, in my eyes, is the cuff. I have repeatedly encountered poor quality cuffs that tear, are difficult to fasten, or do not want to "stick". In this case, I have not seen anything like that - the cuff was put on quickly and stuck easily.
  • Nissei devices are surprising in their size - the entire blood pressure monitor kit easily fits into a fabric bag, which I, as a frequent traveler, really liked. DS_11A_Bag

A little about the minuses

I won't lie, it was really hard to find cons this time. But that's why I spend my days with these devices - to find out what you might not like, so I managed to find at least a couple of cons:

  • Screen size - compared to the previous meter LD-521A, I can clearly see that the screen is significantly smaller. This may cause inconvenience to seniors or older people who complain of poor eyesight.
  • To be honest, I missed the correctly applied cuff indicator that other Nissei devices offer.

Is it worth choosing?

My personal conclusions - I understand why this blood pressure monitor has a 6-year warranty, even at first glance it is easy to understand that the device was precisely assembled. I would recommend this device to a family who wants to have a device at home, a businessman who wants to monitor his health even on business trips, and others who want simplicity and a long-lasting device.
